Privacy Policy

insured.io ("us", "we", or "our") operates the insured.bluefireinsurance.com website on behalf of Bluefire Insurance (the "Service").

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.  Please note that this Privacy Policy only applies to your use of the Service.  Your insurance company may have its own Privacy Policy, governing use of their own products and services, which may differ from ours. We do not take responsibility for their privacy policy.  However, we stand by ours.   

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. We don’t sell your information or use it for purposes, other than to provide you the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, accessible at https://insured.io/

Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected and How We Use It

Account Information:

When you create, or register, an account on the Service (an “Account”), we may ask you for information such as your username, password, policy number, age and phone number.  We may use such information, alone or together with other information, to enhance and improve the Service, such as by personalization.  We use your age to verify that you can lawfully use the Service.  We use your email address to verify your account and to communicate with you, as further described below.

Email Communications with insured.io

As part of the Service, you may occasionally receive administrative communications from insured.io (e.g., for purposes of Account recovery or password reset).  Such communications are considered part of the Service and your Account, which you may not be able to opt-out from receiving.  We may send other communications, at your behest (e.g., emailing a receipt of payment made within the Service).  Note that insured.io will never email you to ask for your password or other Account Information; if you receive such an email, please forward it to us.

Personal Data

In order to provide the Service to you, we receive policy related information from your insurance company.  This information may include information about your policy (ies), coverages and payment related data.   

While using the Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personal Data may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City
  • Cookies and Usage Data
Payments

We may also collect payment information from you in order to provide you with our Service.  This may include making online payments using your credit card or bank account information.  It may also include your ability to enroll in automatic payments with a saved payment method of your choice (ACH or credit card).  We do not store your payment information, nor do we process the payments.  All payment transactions initiated, by you, through our Service are processed by third party payment processor(s), chosen by your insurance company to be connected to our Service. 

By sharing such payment information, you are consenting to our use of such information for the business purpose of providing you the Service.

Usage Data

We also collect information how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (i.e., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.  You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. insured.io uses the collected data for various purposes, which may include, but not be limited to:

  • To provide analysis or information so that we can continually improve the Service;
  • To monitor the usage of the Service; and
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues.

Transfer of Data

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

insured.io will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

insured.io may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To protect and defend the rights or property of insured.io;
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service;
  • To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public; and
  • To protect against legal liability.

Security of Data

The security of your data is very important to us.  To protect data, we follow industry best practices and take reasonable precautions ensure your data is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you share credit card information with us, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards to protect such information. 

Service Providers

We may utilize third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, including but not limited to Google Analytics, as further described below.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

As stated in our Terms of Use, our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Child” and/or "Children").

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from Children without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to purge that information from our servers.

We Use Standard Messaging Service Short Codes

If you opt-in for SMS text alerts, receipts and/or other messaging related to the Services, we will send you a short-code (a six-digit code sent to you when you “opt-in” to SMS text messaging services).  For SMS Short Codes provided un the Services hereunder, the following will apply:

1 . When you opt-in to the Service, we will send you an SMS message to confirm your signup.

2 . You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the short code. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

3 . If at any time you forget what keywords are supported, just text "HELP" to the short code. After you send the SMS message "HELP" to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

4 . We are able to deliver messages to the following mobile phone carriers: Major carriers: AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Alltel, Boost Mobile, Nextel, and Virgin Mobile. Minor carriers: Alaska Communications Systems (ACS), Appalachian Wireless (EKN), Bluegrass Cellular, Cellular One of East Central IL (ECIT), Cellular One of Northeast Pennsylvania, Cincinnati Bell Wireless, Cricket, Coral Wireless (Mobi PCS), COX, Cross, Element Mobile (Flat Wireless), Epic Touch (Elkhart Telephone), GCI, Golden State, Hawkeye (Chat Mobility), Hawkeye (NW Missouri), Illinois Valley Cellular, Inland Cellular, iWireless (Iowa Wireless), Keystone Wireless (Immix Wireless/PC Man), Mosaic (Consolidated or CTC Telecom), Nex-Tech Wireless, NTelos, Panhandle Communications, Pioneer, Plateau (Texas RSA 3 Ltd), Revol, RINA, Simmetry (TMP Corporation), Thumb Cellular, Union Wireless, United Wireless, Viaero Wireless, and West Central (WCC or 5 Star Wireless). ***Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages***

5 . As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive {message frequency}. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our web site:

We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, when the change(s) becomes effective and update the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
